Dr. Andrew Shaul, C.Psych.Andrew Shaul, Ph.D., C. Psych. earned his doctoral degree in 1993, and he is a member in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He brings a caring and compassionate attitude to his work, and he has considerable experience helping his clients overcome a variety of personal challenges. He began his private practice shortly after his graduation, and the practice has developed into an extensive organization with offices located throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and with a complement of over 60 psychotherapists. His areas of specialty include clinical and rehabilitation psychology, marital counseling, and working with adolescents. He conducts assessments and provides counseling for a diverse population of individuals and couples, and he supervises a number of psychotherapists in their work. In addition to his private practice, he is a part-time Faculty member of York University and has been teaching in their Department of Psychology for over 20 years. He has also served on many clinical competency examining committees for advanced doctoral students, and has supervised many recent Ph.D. graduates seeking registration with the College of Psychologists.
Dr. Janine Cutler, C. Psych.Dr. Janine Cutler is a registered psychologist who works in private practice in Toronto, Ontario, and is a supervisor at Andrew Shaul Psychology. Dr. Cutler graduated in 1994 with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Manitoba. Prior to being registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, she was registered with the Psychological Association of Manitoba. Dr. Cutler works with adults, and provides individual, couple and group therapy. She has specialized in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology for the past 16 years. While residing in Manitoba, Dr. Cutler worked as a Program Manager at the Canadian Mental Health Association and Mental Health Psychologist and Senior/Chief Psychologist at Stony Mountain Institution, a medium secure federal prison. Dr. Cutler also was involved in private practice work, since 1988, specializing in legal and court related matters. Prior to entering full time practice with Forensic Psychological Services, Dr. Cutler also was a member of the clinical team at the Forensic Behavioral Management Clinic. Initially, Dr. Cutler worked in the Forensic Rehabilitation Unit at Whitby Mental Health Centre when she moved to Ontario, prior to taking on the position of Chief of Psychology at the Ontario Correctional Institute (OCI), a treatment centre for provincially sentenced males. Subsequent to her tenure at OCI, Dr. Cutler was the Senior/Chief Psychologist at Grand Valley Institution for Women, a multi-level federal prison for women. Dr. Cutler joined Andrew Shaul Psychology Professional Corporation in July of 2010, in the capacity of Supervising Psychologist. In this capacity, Dr. Cutler supervised other clinicians in the areas of assessment and treatment, and completed motor vehicle accident assessments, in addition to psychological and risk assessments related to criminal and immigration/refugee matters. Dr. Cutler has research and clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of violent, sexual and/or special needs male and female federal and provincial offenders within both correctional and community settings. Dr. Cutler also has worked with victims of crime. She has worked extensively in the areas of mental health; abuse; trauma; anger and emotions management; domestic violence; loss; identity and gender issues; personality development and substance abuse. Dr. Cutler has completed the Basic and Advanced Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and has been trained to provide workshops/training in the area of Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma. Dr. Cutler also utilizes Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in her work. She is a certified Riso-Hudson Enneagram teacher, and has offered groups, workshops and retreats on the Enneagram, a psycho-spiritual approach to personality-typing and self-understanding.
Dr. Shari Geller, C.Psych.Dr. Shari Geller is a registered psychologist and health and wellness facilitator. Dr. Geller has a specialty in Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation Assessment and Counseling. She is a supervisor at Andrew Shaul Psychology and also has a private practice in Toronto and Grey-Bruce County. She is on contract faculty at York University and University of Toronto, teaching counseling skills and mindfulness practices. Dr. Geller also facilitates seminars and groups, in areas such as mindfulness and therapeutic presence, for health professionals, women, cancer care survivors, as well as for people with chronic pain and illness. Dr. Geller has a 20-year meditation practice and incorporates Buddhist philosophy in her work and life. She also developed a group program integrating mindfulness and rhythm based practices for reducing stress and enhancing emotional and cognitive integration. Dr. Geller's current research includes exploring the health benefits of therapeutic rhythm and mindfulness for cancer survivors. Her recent book is on therapeutic presence, providing a framework for therapists of the healthy and essential foundation of being fully in the moment.
Dr. Cathy Chilly, C.Psych.Dr. Cathy Chilly is a registered psychologist, licensed to provide services in Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology. In addition to research and teaching experience in these two applied fields of psychology, Dr. Chilly has over 15 years of practice experience in hospital settings, multidisciplinary clinics, and private practice facilities. Dr. Chilly relies on the breadth of her clinical experience to supervise rehabilitation therapists at Andrew Shaul Psychology. Dr. Chilly also specializes in the assessment of psychological variables in clients' vocational transitions. She is Director of Psycho-vocational Assessments at Shaul Psychology. In her private practice, Dr. Chilly not only provides assessment and intervention services to adults in need of rehabilitation, but also to those needing direction and support to meet other life and personal challenges. Dr. Chilly is trained in a wide range of standardized treatment methods that she integrates in a collaborative approach with her clients, attending to their individual needs and goals. Her practice is informed by Positive Psychology principles; Dr. Chilly provides direction and encouragement to her clients to help them realize self-growth and enrich their lives- living to their full potential.
Esther Benbihy, M.A.Esther Benbihy, M.A., earned her masters degree in counselling psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 2006, and holds a Specialized Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from York University. She holds a certificate in Sex Therapy from the University of Guelph. She is also trained in Emotion-Focused Couples psychotherapy. Esther has over six years of experience providing assessment and treatment services to individuals and couples in the Greater Toronto Area. In her sex therapy practice, Esther assists clients in achieving more satisfying sex lives by exploring their thoughts and feelings regarding their bodies, sexual feelings, and overall sexuality. She assists Individuals and couples in fostering a healthy, positive attitude regarding sexuality, which can strengthen the intimate bond between partners and help sex to become a satisfying part of life. Esther also conducts general psychotherapy for individuals with issues other than sexual difficulties.
Yaacov Lefcoe, Ph.D.Yaacov Lefcoe, Ph.D (Clinical Psychology), has worked in psychotherapy and psychological assessment since the mid-1990s in various clinical and educational settings in Canada and in Israel. He has trained in and worked with process-experiential therapy, cognitive therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and family therapy, and has extensive experience with a variety of assessment approaches and techniques. After having worked within these different systems and techniques, Yaacov increasingly approaches psychological practice with an integrative, holistic view of the person, and with a view to helping clients to use psychotherapy in their own unique way. Yaacov also maintains an interest in spirituality, religiosity, and ultimate concerns, and the ways in which these may be worked with positively in psychotherapy. |
